The Nineteenth Century

The nineteenth century was a period in history marked by the collapse of the Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Holy Roman and Mughal empires. This paved the way for the growing influence of the British Empire, the German Empire and the United States, spurring military conflicts but also advances in science and exploration.

  There are many Writers in the Nineteenth Century like Washington Irving he was the first successful professional author in america..

Ralph Waldo Emerson 

He was the first american philosopher of note.His lecture entitled "The American Scholar".


Nathaniel Hawthorne 

 His ancestors include John Hathorne, a judge during the Salem Witch Trials. Nathaniel later added a "w" to make his name "Hawthorne". He entered Bowdoin College in 1821, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1824,[1] and graduated in 1825. 


Henry David Thoreau

He was a recluse and a radical thingker.He observed nature conscientiously, and commented on human life safely.


  John Greenleaf Whittier

 He was an influential American Quaker poet and ardent advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. He is usually listed as one of the Fireside Poets. Whittier was strongly influenced by the Scottish poet, Robert Burns.


James Fenimare Cooper

He wrote long romantic novels,relating extraordinary adventues, with the frontier as his background.

              The stories of the nineteenth century i think is the most popular because the writers is the best for me.
They were awesome because the stories are full of imagination and feelings drama etc..  They can be my inspiration or yours.
